Forest Rising [2015]


Forest Rising is a brand new musical and visual collaboration between three multi-award winning artists:multimedia artist Lu Sisi, drummer and composer Ollie Howell and jazz saxophonist Duncan Eagles. With a huge collection of accolades between them (including 2 Sky Academy Arts Scholarships) and combining an eclectic mix of Electronic, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Digital Art, Forest Rising are a completely unique and exciting musical and visual experience.

Lu Sisi is a multi-award winning sound and video artist. His work combines electronic music, film and live performance. Originally from Inner Mongolia, Sisi now lives in London, and his awards include a Gold medal at the 2011 New York Festival and a Sky Academy Arts Scholarship. His sound design has been featured at London and Shanghai’s Fashion Weeks and on the BBC documentary, ‘Facing up to Mackintosh’.

Ollie Howell is a critically acclaimed and award winning jazz drummer and composer. Already having earned praise from celebrated producer Quincy Jones and legendary jazz drummer Jimmy Cobb, Ollie has had an eventful start to his career, and his debut album ‘Sutures and Stitches’ was featured in MOJO Magazine’s ‘Top 10 Jazz Albums of 2013’. Ollie is a Sky Academy Arts Scholarship winner, and is the first ever jazz recipient of any Sky accolade.

Duncan Eagles is often regarded as one of the leading young British jazz saxophonists of his generation. He has toured at venues and festivals all over the world, and his own group Partikel have just released their highly anticipated third album, already appearing on ‘best jazz album of 2015’ lists.
